An Adventurous Weekend Set for Co. Tyrone

LOCALS from Co. Tyrone are already pencilling in the weekend of 23rd and 24th March in their diaries for Northern Ireland’s third Adventureland Weekend.

Over this weekend the county is set to become a key destination where there will be six outdoor activity events on offer for both locals and tourists alike.

For one weekend only all events are being offered at a fraction of the price to kick start the activity season in this wild, untouched and beautiful area.

Over this unique weekend, twenty three activity providers from all over Northern Ireland will offer events at either £10pp or 50% off in order to celebrate the rich variety of outdoor activities available. On offer, families will be able to choose from a multi adventure of archery, zip lining and rally driving in Ballygawley or enjoy a relaxing canoe trip on Gortin Lakes.

The more adventurous out there can experience pulsating action in Ballygawley by jumping from the ‘Drop Zone’, speeding down a 500 metre zip line and finishing off with a white knuckle, high speed hill rally drive!

The Northern Ireland Adventureland campaign has been launched by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) in association with OutdoorNI.com. NITB’s Activity Tourism Officer, Julie McLaughlin, commented “Whether people are looking to have fun with their friends, spend some quality time with their other half or do something different with the family, there really is something for everyone this Adventureland Weekend”.

“The weekend gives everybody the chance to try something new and fun for great value and with two county Tyrone based activity providers offering a range of ‘come and try it’ activity sessions, there really is no better time to get you, your family and your friends booked onto an adventure this spring” added Julie.

Beverley Pierson from OutdoorNI.com explains what the weekend is all about: “Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend is about getting outdoors and trying something new. It is the perfect kick start to a whole summer of outdoor activities and all events are perfect for beginners, enthusiasts, families or groups of friends. With qualified and experienced instructors showing people the ropes, no experience is necessary and all that’s required is a sense of adventure”.

“It promises to be a great weekend with so many fantastic activities right on peoples doorsteps at such great prices. Over 1400 people took part in last year’s event so make sure you get your place booked soon!” said Beverley.
