Appeal for information after sexual assault

POLICE in Dungannon are appealing for information following a sexual assault on a young female on Saturday night (2nd February).

A report was received yesterday (Sunday) from a young female stating that in the early hours of Saturday while in Irish Street, Dungannon she was approached by a male driving a black vehicle.

This male claimed to be a taxi and took her home but on trying to exit the vehicle she was subjected to a sexual assault before managing to escape.

This highlights the dangers of lone females and indeed anyone else rendered vulnerable by alcohol or separated from friends of getting into an illegal taxi.
