Arrests in Coalisland over Black murder

TWO men were arrested early yesterday morning in Coalisland by detectives investigating the murder of Cookstown prison officer, David Black.

Mr Black was shot as he drove on the M1 to work at Maghaberry Prison on November 1.

The men, aged 34 and 42, were arrested in the Brackaville area of Coalisland yesterday morning, Tuesday.

The pair were taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station for questioning.

Four men have already previously been arrested and released by police investigating the murder of father-of-two Mr Black.

A dissident republican organisation styling itself as a new IRA admitted responsibility for the murder. Black was the first prison officer to be targeted by paramilitaries for nearly 20 years.
