Celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Burnavon

THIS year’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations get off to a great start with the annual concert at the Burnavon Arts & Cultural Centre on Saturday 16th March starting at 8pm

Introduced by writer- presenter Declan Forde the fantastic line-up features Cookstown Youth Choir, Irish Rhythm and McKenna School of Dance to name just a few. We are also delighted to welcome Folk Fusion, a five piece Irish Trad-Folk group from County Armagh as our headline act for the evening.

And we look forward very much to hearing from World Champion piper Emmet Conway, who has recently returned from playing in New Zealand.

Of course our St Patrick’s Day concert would not be complete without hearing from a group from the Traditional Music in Schools Project – another opportunity to see the brilliant progress these children continue to make.

Recently the Chairman of Cookstown District Council, Councillor Tony Quinn paid visits to some of the schools involved in the project to see the children practising and to offer his encouragement as they get ready for their big Burnavon performance.

A development from the Traditional Music project which we are equally proud of is the Saturday Folk Club who will also be playing at the St Patrick’s Concert.

All in all, this event will be a celebration of the very best in local musical talent. The St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Concert is always one of the most popular nights of the year, so be sure to get your tickets in time.

Priced at £10 each they can be booked from the Burnavon Box Office on 028 8676 9949 or online at www.burnavon.com

This event has been organised by Cookstown District Council through the Arts and Culture Development programme.
