Court hears third suspect ‘at large’ in arson case
A THIRD suspect remains “at large” in the case of two men accused of deliberately starting a fire at a house in Dungannon.
Colm James Murray, 27, from Windmill Court in the town, and 34 year-old Michael John Reilly, from Lisgoole Park, Drumgallan, Enniskillen, are both accused of arson endangering life in relation to an alleged incident on June 12.
The incident is alleged to have occurred at Woodburn Crescent.
Both men are also charged with one count of possessing an offensive weapon and four counts of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
Reilly, meanwhile, is further accused of going equipped for burglary.
During a videolink hearing for Murray, which took place in the defendant’s absence after a Court Service official explained he had been involved in an “incident” at Maghaberry Prison with another prisoner, Dungannon Magistrates Court was told a third suspect is still being sought in the case.
The court was told 37 to 40 statements had been submitted in the case to date.
Meanwhile, a lawyer for Michael Reilly asked for a bail application by the defendant to be adjourned as medical evidence was being awaited.
The lawyer claimed the evidence would show that Reilly was undergoing an MRI test at Altnagelvin Hospital on the date of the alleged incident before the court.
Reilly’s case was adjourned until October 31, while Murray’s was put back until November 21.
