CHAIRPERSON of Dungannon’s Castlehill Opening Committee, DUP Councillor Kim Ashton, has thanked all those involved in making Festive Hill a huge success.

Cllr Ashton said: “The week of events organised on The Hill of the O’Neill created a great sense of community spirit. Every night Festive Hill was so different from the night before and offered something for everyone.

“It was great to see the hundreds of people that turned out every night in all weathers to support the festivities. I would like to thank all the members of the public that supported this unique event.”

The Dungannon Town representative continued: “Of course such events do not come together without the many people that worked in the background and I personally want to thank the members of staff that were on site for many hours to ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable evening.

“It also must be said that all the community organisations and local traders that hosted the events put a lot of time and effort into Festive Hill and without them the week would not have been such a success.

“Festive Hill proves that the Council working together with local businesses and community groups can yield magnificent results and I hope our working relationship can continue to ensure delivery of more events of such a nature in the town.”
