Find out more about girlguiding at special event
YOUNG girls and their families who are interested in finding out more about exactly what’s on offer through girlguiding are warmly invited to a special event in Dungannon on Saturday, March 23.
The event, which takes place between 10.30am to 12.30pm, at the Ranfurly Arts Centre, has been organised by Girlguiding Ulster in a bid to promote girlguiding in the Dungannon and surrounding areas.
Representatives and leaders of the various units throughout Tyrone will be in attendance at the Try, Taste and See Morning.
A spokesperson for the local group said: “Our aim is to promote our organisation, not only for new Rainbows (ages 4-7), Brownies (ages 7-10) and Guides (ages 10-14) but also as a volunteering opportunity for both young and older adults.
“Guiding can be an excellent way to enhance job opportunities, as volunteering with this worldwide recognised organisation is invaluable to have on a CV.
“It is hoped that this occasion will let prospective new members, volunteers and parents have a taste of what Girlguiding is all about and let them get hands-on experience of how an hour or so a week can be so fulfilling and also a lot of fun.”
There will be stalls with simple craft ideas, tasty treats and also goodie bags for girls to take away with them.
Leaders will be on hand at all times to answer any questions from children and adults alike and to give further information on what Girlguiding means to them.
