Grand Christmas art exhibition at Gallery One

GALLERY One Cookstown is currently hosting a unique exhibition of magnificent paintings by leading Irish and International

Artists both past and present.

This unmissable exhibition began on Saturday 1st December and runs until Saturday 12th January 2013.

Artists’ fine pieces of worko n display includes those of John S Haggan, George A Gourley, Sue Howells, J P Rooney, Charles McAuley, James Humbert Craig, Roland Hill, George Morrison, Ponsonby Staples, Terry Bradley, Maurice C Wilks, Graham

Also on display will be a selection of French impressionist and Victorian art.

Prices begin from as little as £50 for an original painting and one of these would make an ideal Christmas present for family and friends.

From the past there will be beautiful landscape paintings by Charles McAuley, Maurice Wilks, James Humbert Craig, George Morrison, Graham Isom, Andrea Hayes, Susan Lincoln, Denis Ferguson to name but a few.

There will also be a selection of Victorian and French impressionist paintings by Paul Emile Pissarro and Suzanne Eisendieck showing the style and techniques from that period in art.

With landscapes depicting everything from Tuscan landscapes with their fields of poppies and lavender to scenes of winter wonderland on our own doorstep you will certainly be spoilt for choice at Gallery One this Christmas.

There will be a large selection of recent oils, acrylics and watercolours by local artist John S. Haggan many of which depict the local landscape while others are more contemporary with the use of more vibrant colours and bolder techniques.

George A Gourley will also be well represented with many unique paintings on display showing his unique sepia tone watercolours at their best. Many of this well known artist’s paintings depict evocative subject from our past including tractors, their outbuildings and characters from a bygone era.

Among the many international artists on display willbe the work of award winning Sue Howells who is renowned for her realistic works of art, many depicting every day people their activities and surroundings. Work by other artists includes subject matter such as horses, hens, cows,boats, flowers and figurative pieces.
