Keep valuables safe

POLICE in Dungannon are reminding shop and office staff to keep personal items in a secure part of their premises during working hours.

It follows a report of the theft of a Samsung mobile phone from the public area of a shop at Thomas Street on Tuesday afternoon.

Said a police spokesman: “We are encouraging staff to keep valuable such as wallets, purses, mobile phones, and coats in a private part of their premises.

“This should be an area that customers have no access to and, if practicable, should be kept locked.”

Anyone offered a chance to buy a white Samsung Galaxy mobile phone in unusual circumstances is asked to contact police in Dungannon. The number to call is 0845 600 8000, quoting reference number 693 14/08//12.
