Killymaddy to be used for community

DUNGANNON Council has agreed to enter into an agreement with community organisations in the Killeeshil area regarding the future of Killymaddy Tourist Information Centre.

A recent committee meeting was updated on the situation facing the centre, which is located on the old A4 Dungannon to Ballygawley Road.

The meeting was told Ranfurly House in Dungannon is now the main Tourist Information Centre within the Borough, with Killymaddy currently viewed as an outlet.

Members were told the centre had “served its purpose well”, but that the council has to consider its future and relocation, possibly between the A4 and A5 trunk roads.

It was agreed that the council enter into a partnership with Clonanease and Killeeshil Historical and Community Association and Killeeshil Panda Play Group to utilise Killymaddy as a community resource.

Business plans are to be drawn up as two separate identities.
