Local officers honoured at F District Awards

POLICE officers attached to the Dungannon and South Tyrone area command unit were to the fore at this year’s ‘F District’ awards night.

Three detectives received Chief Constable’s Commendations for their successful investigation into a horrific kidnapping and sexual abuse case.

Five officers also received CC’s commendations for their courage in evacuating Aughnacloy after a bomb warning, while two were handed district Commander’s Commendations for their efforts to save a man who had collapsed.

Meanwhile, a prestigious Royal Humane Society award went to an officer who saved a child who was in danger of choking to death.
