Man quizzed over burglary attempt

A THIRTY-ONE year-old man has been arrested by detectives in connection with a string of break-ins, including an attempted burglary in Ballygawley.

The man was arrested in the Portadown area shortly before midnight on Monday in relation to a number of offences allegedly carried out in the Ballygawley, Newry, Monaghan, Omagh, Hilltown, Strabane, Loughgilly, Mayobridge and Tandragee areas.

The offences include attempted burglary, burglary, car theft, threats to kill and aggravated vehicle taking.

It is understood the attempted burglary offence relates to an alleged incident in May of last year.
