MLA launches event to mark World Mental Health Day

LOCAL Sinn Féin MLA Bronwyn McGahan has taken part in the Don’t Lose Your Marbles event at the Assembly, which marked the launch of the Assembly’s Charity of the Year, Action Mental Health.

The Fermanagh & South Tyrone MLA said: “The event was to mark World Mental Health Day and although it was a fun based one, it was designed to show how easy it is to lose your mental health.

“I was delighted that many MLA’s and Assembly staff showed up to participate and that it was fully supported by all parties.

“It is important that we remove any stigma associated with mental health issues and ensure that those suffering from mental health problems are given the same consideration as those with physical health issues.

“Action Mental Health is doing excellent work and I would urge anyone who is experiencing mental health issues to seek help and not to suffer on their own as there is help available.”
