Police appeal over suspicious object

DETECTIVES from PSNI Serious Crime Branch are appealing for information following the discovery of a suspicious object in the Upper Kildress Road area of Cookstown on Wednesday 17th October.

Several roads in the area were closed for a number of hours as Army Technical Officers examined the object which was later declared an elaborate hoax.

Police would ask anyone who was in the area on the morning of Wednesday 17th October and who may have noticed any suspicious activity, or who has any information about this incident to contact detectives at Mahon Road on 028 38 366140. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
