Police host ‘One Service Many Careers’ Seminar
POLICE in F District hosted a Careers Seminar for secondary level schools from across Fermanagh, Omagh, Dungannon and Cookstown areas on Friday, March 8th, in St. Andrew’s Parish Church, Killyman, Dungannon.
Careers Teachers and sixth form students from all secondary level schools were invited.
The ‘One Service Many Careers’ highlighted the huge variety of career options available for both police officers and police staff within the organisation.
The objective of the event was to offer information about careers available within the Police Service to young people as they move on to the next level of their University or vocational training.
This seminar provided an opportunity to showcase a wide spectrum of police and support service roles available in the Police, including legal services, corporate communications, training, Crime scene investigators and analysts.
Speaking about the event, F District Service Delivery Superintendent, Alywin Barton said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for careers teachers and young people to come along and see what types of Police and Support careers are available within the Police Service and how they all work together to deliver a personal, professional, protective policing service.
“The Police Service offers a huge range of opportunities, both as a police officer and in a support role.”
Those who attended the event had the opportunity to visit the presentations and to see and hear from the many Departments within the Police Service who were represented throughout the day. They were provided with an array of information and practical skills advising students about the broad range of careers the Police Service has to offer.
Students who attended were also given a memory stick which contains information uploaded giving details about the wide spectrum of jobs within the Police.
