POLICE are asking farmers in rural areas of Tyrone and Fermanagh to report livestock thefts promptly.

A number of reports have been made days after the offence was noted and this reduces the potential for a successful prosecution.

A police spokesman said: “Please report all thefts straight away, and similarly if you see suspicious activity or vehicle, report it immediately.”
