VISIT Springhill this St Patrick’s Day for a host of Shamrock Shenanigans for all the family.

Following a successful event in 2012, the National Trust owned property is once again set to host a fun-filled free event which will have everything from traditional entertainment to a shamrock trail!

County Tyrone’s very own ‘Chasin Hooley’ will provide a unique blend of Irish Folk music in the afternoon and visitors can enjoy story-telling, traditional Irish food, crafts and activities for the children throughout the day.

Springhill House will re-open for the first time since its deep winter clean - take a tour of the 17th Century plantation home to hear more about the ten generations of the Lenox-Conyngham family who lived there and have fun finding the hidden pots of gold in each of the rooms.

Don’t miss the shamrock trail - a major highlight at last year’s event – explore the grounds of Springhill to find all 10 shamrocks located among the woods and parkland of this enchanting estate. Win a small treat if you can find the lot!

The Servants’ Hall Tea Room will be open for refreshments, as will the Well-Read Bookshop, packed with hundreds of second-hand books. Children can explore Springhill’s natural play area and families can enjoy a rejuvenating walk around the estate where spring flowers and nature is coming to life.

Springhill is just 10 minutes from Cookstown so come along and experience something different with the family this St. Patrick’s Day!

Shamrock Shenanigans will take place at Springhill, Moneymore on Sunday 17 March from 1-5pm. Normal admission, National Trust members and anyone called ‘Patrick’ goes free. Additional charges apply for house tours. For further information visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/springhill or follow us on facebook.com/NationalTrustMidUlster
