Stolen vehicle incidents linked in Fivemiletown

POLICE are linking two incidents after a vehicle and agricultural machinery were stolen in the Fivemiletown area on Saturday 9th March.

At 12.45am on 9th March, Police received a report of an agricultural theft at in the Cooneen Road, area of Fivemiletown. The victim reported that a Massey Ferguson tractor and Redrock slurry tanker had just been stolen. Police patrolling crews located the stolen vehicles .

A short time later, Police then received another call that a vehicle had been hijacked at a service station in Fivemiletown. As a result of quick police action the vehicle was subsequently located on the Derry Road in Omagh, and officers from Omagh Crime team officers deployed a stinger device effectively disabling the stolen vehicle.

A suspect made off on foot but police apprehended him.

A number of people were arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
