THE application deadline for Power NI’s new energy saving competition, Quest, is fast approaching with the final day for submission the 31st March.

Quest is a bespoke 10 step energy saving programme where six community groups, clubs or voluntary organisations from across Northern Ireland will compete against each other. The first group to reach the 10th step will win £10,000 to invest in renewable technologies for their local area.

The competition will start on the 1st May and six groups will begin the race together, they will also receive funding from Power NI throughout the challenge. The groups will work closely with a Power NI mentor who will show them the benefits of energy efficiency and the difference it can make to a community.

Power NI’s project coordinator Neil Coleman said: “The deadline for Quest applications is coming very soon so we want everyone to get involved and apply as soon as possible. Applying online is simple and easy to do, just visit www.powerni.co.uk/quest.”

He added: “Our aim for Quest is to educate and empower local communities in Northern Ireland to become more energy efficient and help residents and local businesses save on their energy bills. Remember anyone can apply. We aren’t looking for experienced energy savers – just enthusiastic, dedicated groups up for a challenge.”

Deadline for Quest applications is 31st March 2013. The competition will begin on 1st May. To receive a postal application pack call 028 9068 5031 or e-mail energysaving@powerni.co.uk for more information.
