Woman admits stealing from local supermarkets

A STEWARTSTOWN woman has pleaded guilty to a string of shoplifting charges.

Patricia Anne Lappin, 22, from The Square, also admitted fraud and drug offences when she appeared before Dungannon Magistrates Court via videolink.

Lappin pleaded guilty to stealing items worth more than £80 from two local retailers, namely Hegarty’s Superstore and Stewartstown Supermarket, over the course of five days in August of this year, and on May 1.

She also entered guilty pleas to one count of possessing a Class A drug, four counts of fraud by false representation, and one count of attempted shoplifting.

Lappin’s case was adjourned until November 21 for the preparation of pre-sentence reports by the Probation Service.
