The Eleventh was a busy night for firefighters across Northern Ireland, but according to the Fire Service they attended just one call out in Mid Ulster.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Alan Walmsley said one appliance was called out to cool down homes next to a bonfire in the Killyman Road area of Dungannon.
The incident took place in Killymerron Park.
“We cooled down six properties to prevent fire using hose reel jets,” he said.
Asked how close the bonfire was to the homes, he added: “It was close enough that it was starting to heat up the properties.”
Of the 123 calls Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service received last night, Asst chief Walmsley said 42 were bonfire related.
And that of those reported, the Fire Service took action at the scene of 16.
He said there were no reports of violence against firefighters in the district.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said there was no police involvement in the incident.
