A community centre which provides services for local people living in the West of Dungannon has been given a major revamp

“Loughview House has been completely transformed and where once there were drab white walls an explosion of colour and creativity has taken over”, said a spokesperson.

“Fun and vibrant wall paintings have brought a new lease of life to the house. Over the last two months participants from the South West College “Going Places” programme have assisted local community volunteers with the painting of the house and the final

result is spectacular!”

On Saturday 1st March from 1pm to 5pm residents from the Annaghshee, Fairmount and Milltown estates will get together to celebrate this achievement and talk about the plans they have for the house.

The opening of the house will coincide with a health promotion day funded through the Southern Health and Social Care Trust Neighbourhood Renewal Health programme.

This will also be an opportunity to thank the volunteers that helped with last year summer activities and the running of the youth club and those involved in the makeover of the house.

This initiative is supported by Loughview Partnership Association which is made up by a number of statutory agencies, voluntary and community organisations and residents.
