Pensioner suffers burns in chip pan fire at her Fivemiletown home

An 88-year-old woman suffered burns after a chip pan caught fire at her home in Fivemiletown on Wednesday.

Firefighters from Clogher and Fintona were called to the scene, but it is understood the fire was out by the time they arrived.

The incident, which took place just after 11am at the home in Nelson Park, set off the fire alarm.

An ambulance was also tasked to the scene and the injured pensioner taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries.
