SDLP Torrent representative Malachy Quinn has welcomed the new park and ride development at Tamnamore Roundabout during a site visit last week.
Mr Quinn was accompanied on the visit by SDLP Mid-Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone.
Mr Quinn said “Tamnamore Roundabout is one of the busiest parts of the M1 with thousands of motorists using it every day, and the new park and ride is a welcomed development which will give motorists a place to park their car as well as get the bus to Belfast and other places.”
Mr Quinn continued: “I have also been contacted by a number of residents in the local area voicing concern about the size of the Annaghbeg Road, and if it would be capable of accommodating the rise in traffic which will come with the park and ride.
“As a regular user of the road myself I know how hazardous it can be in poor conditions especially when meeting a lorry.
“The SDLP has been in contact with the Roads Service to convey these concerns to them and they have acknowledged this and confirmed that the road is to be widened at parts to accommodate the new traffic flow.”
