Standard police stop leads to three arrests after drugs and stolen property found in Dungannon homes

Three men have been arrested after a standard police stop near Caledon led to the discovery of drugs, a stolen car, motorcycle and mobiles phones at homes in Dungannon.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said officers stopped a car on the Dyan Road near Caledon at around 2am on Thursday morning.

Three men aged 20, 22 and 24 were then arrested on suspicion of concealing stolen goods and officers seized the car along with a quantity of cash before further searches were carried out at houses in the Dungannon area.

“Another car, a motorcycle, two mobile phones and a quantity of suspected drugs were recovered from these searches,” a PSNI spokesperson explained.

“The 24-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of class A & B drugs and possession of class A & B drugs with intent to supply [while] the 20-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A controlled drug.

“All three men currently remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries,” they added.

“Local police are working hard to keep people safe in the area and this operation shows that where we suspect criminality is taking place, we will act decisively.”
