A competition to design a logo inspired by the late Frank Gervin of Clonoe Boxing Club fame, has proven to be a huge hit among pupils at St Joseph’s College Coalisland.

The students were given the task of creating the logo for the new Frank Gervin Clonoe ABC, and the local boxing legend’s important legacy provided much inspiration for those involved.

As the first ever recipient of the college’s Friends of St Joseph’s award, Frank was a role model not only for the pupils but also for the staff and other members of the community.

Within a matter of days, every student in the college was producing some of the most creative ideas. The overall winner, Cathal McCracken, is pictured here with Nuala Kelly, Frank’s daughter, and Principal Desi McNeill. Runner-ups were Aine Linden and Martin McDonagh.
