Co Tyrone firm Waste Systems is to create 16 new jobs and more than double its workforce after securing a £500K loan from the Growth Loan Fund to boost working capital.

Finance for the £50m Growth Loan Fund – which provides loans to established Northern Ireland SMEs seeking to access growth finance – has been provided by Invest Northern Ireland and private investor, Northern Ireland Local Government Officers’ Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC).

Waste Systems was founded in Plumbridge in 2009 by Managing Director Nishi Ward and currently employs 14 staff. The company specialises in the provision of separation solutions for municipal and other light duty waste, with a core product offering of six screening and separation machines – the most recent addition being the Proflow Density Separator. The firm has sold machinery across the world to customers in America, France, Belgium and mainland UK.

Nishi Ward, Managing Director said: “The significant global changes in attitude to reducing landfill in recent years along with the introduction of legislation has contributed to our success to date and positions the company as a key player in the drive to create a better environment.
