Dungannon town has been hit by 138 incidents of late-night weekend violence over the past year.
The figures covered Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from October last year to September this year. It is understood that a sizeable percentage of the statistics refer to domestic incidents.
Across Northern Ireland, there were 8.300 attacks. Belfast topped the table with a total of 2.316 incidents, followed by Londonderry with 810, Craigavon 420 and Newry 381.
In a bid to reduce violent crime across Northern Ireland, the PSNI has produced a short film called ‘One Punch Can Kill’.
Targeting young males aged between 15 – 25, the film highlights the risks of getting involved in an argument or fight which could ultimately lead to serious injury or death.
It will also be used as part of an educational package that will be rolled out across all policing districts in Northern Ireland.
