Three unusual stones, believed to be possibly linked as far back as the Stone Age have been uncovered in Coalisland.

The stones, which were uncovered by a local resident, who wishes to remain anonymous bare striking resemblance to objects which were used in the Stone Age to skin animals.

The objects are unusual shapes and were quickly spotted by a local resident during some building work.

One of the stones in particular has a distinctive thumb imprint, which is very similar to the stones used by the cavemen to skin animals.

If you are able to shed any light on these artefacts, we would like to hear from you.

You can call our offices on 028 867 62288 or alternatively email news@tyronetimes.co.uk. Who knows you could help identify a little piece of history right here in Coalisland!
