An attempt was made to abduct a child in the Coagh area on Wednesday.

At 5.45pm the child was playing outside the family home on the Drumenny Road, when a car drove into the driveway, and a male got out of car and grabbed the child’s arm.

The child’s mother came out, and the man got into the car and drove off

The man is described as being in his late 50’s, over 5’8” in height, short grey curly hair, and was wearing a long red-sleeved jumper and dirty jeans.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue old style car, with five spoke alloys and the boot of the car had a large letter S on it.

The PSNI say they are appealing for witnesses.
