A CASE involving an Augher man accused of the murder of his father has been sent to the Crown Court in Belfast for trial.
Sean Hackett, 19, of Aughadarragh Road is charged with murder and two counts of possession of a firearm relating to an incident on 4th January 2013.
Mr Hackett appeared at East Tyrone Magistrates Court where the charges were read to him and the prosecution ruled that there was a case to answer.
Mr Hackett answered ‘no’ when asked if he wanted to say anything in relation to the charges. He also answered ‘no’ when asked if he wanted to give evidence or call witnesses.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Belfast Crown Court at a date to be fixed.
Another male connected to the case also appeared at East Tyrone Magistrates Court.
Ronan Mulrine, 18, of Dunrow Road, Augher is charged with possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances, two counts of possessing a firearm without certificate and perverting the course of justice.
Mr Mulrine also replied ‘No’ when asked if he wanted to say anything in relation to the charges. He was remanded on his own bail of £200 to appear at Belfast Crown Court.
