Aughnacloy College began their 50th anniversary celebration with some excellent GCSE results last week.
92% of pupils obtained 5 or more GCSEs grades A*-C while 100% of pupils obtained 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*–E.
Principal of Aughnacloy College Mr Colin Berry congratulated the pupils, staff and parents on the results achieved.
He said: “I congratulate all our pupils on the results that they have obtained. We celebrate their achievements and efforts and are proud of their successes.
“These results are the best ever results obtained at Aughnacloy College. Once again the teachers and support staff dedicated themselves to helping the pupils achieve their best. We wish them all well as they leave Aughnacloy College and continue on their chosen career path.”
This year Aughnacloy College will celebrate its 50th anniversary and these outstanding GCSE results are an excellent start to the celebrations. There will be a special anniversary dinner held in Corick House on 4th October 2013. More details are available from the school office.
All of this comes on the back of an excellent inspection carried out by the Education and Training Inspectorate in the school before the summer holidays.
After the three day inspection the inspectors reported the following: “In the areas inspected the quality of education provided by the Aughnacloy College is very good. The school is meeting very effectively the educational and pastoral needs of the learners and has demonstrated its capacity for sustained self improvement.” The full inspection report is available on the ETI website.
