A 14-year-old girl was taken into State care after an Emergency Care Order was granted

A Coalisland man has been sentenced to three months in prison for an assault on another man in a bar.

Noel Woods, 37, of Glenview Heights, Coalisland was charged with common assault in relation to an incident on July 3 last year.

A court was told how a man presented himself at Dungannon police station to report an assault at Four Corners Bar.

The man told police he had went out of the bar for a smoke and was attacked from behind by the defendant, Police took details of the man’s injuries and sent him to the Minor Injuries Unit for treatment.

District Judge John Meehan sentenced Mr Woods, to 3 months in prison to run concurrent with his current sentence which he is serving for his part in a robbery.

He also remanded him to appear again before Dungannon Crown Court in relation to a breach of a previous suspended sentence.
