A charity organistion which works to set up school feeding projects in some of the world’s poorest countries is appealing to the people of Coalisland to help in any way they can.

Mary’s Meals is a global movement which helps some of the poorest children to get one meal per day in a place of education.

An information night is being held in Coalisland Na Fianna Clubhouse on Thursday 26 June and everyone is invited to come along a bring a friend to find out more about this very worthwhile cause.

Mary’s Meals is now feeding 894,288 of the world’s poorest children every day they attend school thanks to the generosity of people who share their vision that every child in this world of plenty should receive a nutritious daily meal in their place of education.

Over 25,000 children have been added to their global school feeding programme in the last three months. It costs just €14.50 for the charity to feed a child for a whole school year so every little act can make a big difference to the future of a child receiving Mary’s Meals. Most recently, Mary’s Meals responded to the crisis in East Africa, where 10.7 million people have been affected by severe food shortages. For more information come along on 26th June at 8.30pm or visit www.marysmeals.org

Mary’s Meals are also looking for volunteer speakers to visit schools and clubs to spread the word about Mary’s Meals. Full training will be given, and existing speakers love the role! Contact Aoife Martin for more information (aoife.martin@marysmeals.org or +353 (0)1 857 2155)
