A Dungannon man who pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol in breath has been fined and banned from driving for 16 months.
Aiden Fox, 40, of Bush Road, Dungannon was charged with the offence in relation to an incident on Bush Road on June 29 this year.
A court heard how police were on patrol on the Bush Road at around 2.30am on the night in question when they observed a vehicle turned on its side. They approached the vehicle and found the defendant standing against a grass bank and when asked if he was hurt he said ‘No I’m blocked.’ He admitted he had been drinking in McGirr’s Bar in Coalisland that night. His breath test revealed a reading at the station of 78mg/100ml breath.
On top of the 16 month driving ban, District Judge John Meehan fined Mr Fox a total of £165 for the offence, calling the breath reading ‘high’.
