Nathan Carter, Proms in the Park with the Celtic Tenors, a Mad Hatters tea-party, Hot Chocolate and Flavour of Tyrone’s Good Food Circle food hall extravaganza will all mark the 25th anniversary of the opening of the much-loved Dungannon Park.
The weekend long party, which starts on Friday, August 22 and finishes the following Monday, promises to be a birthday party to remember.
Dungannon’s Lord Mayor, councillor Roger Burton, said: “This summer festival is a marvellous way to celebrate the 25th birthday of the Green Flag Award-winning Dungannon Park, the picturesque jewel in the crown of our facilities.
“The park, for a quarter of a century, has provided both local people and tourists with a venue [at which] to rest, relax, play sport, fish, play, [and] attend concerts - the list is endless.
“So I encourage you all to join in the birthday celebrations... there will be fun for all the family this bank holiday weekend!”
The celebrations kick off on Friday, August 22 at 7.00pm with Country in the Park with Nathan Carter, supported by artists CRUSH and Aidan Quinn and his Band. This event will be compered by Lynette Fay, and all 6,000 tickets have been allocated.
On Saturday, August 23 a seated Proms in the Park headlined with the Classical cross-over group The Celtic Tenors, will take place at at 7.00pm.
Also performing are Soprano Gemma Prince, Baritone Karl McGuckin with accompanist Wilson Shields, Arco String Quartet will also be performing, compered by Noel Thompson. Admission is Free.
The Mad Hatters Tea Party commences on Sunday, August 24 at 2pm with lots of entertainment including Children’s Theatre, Priory Production of Hansel & Gretel, Junk Orchestra, Scallywags Space Wars, Hip Hop dancing... and of course Birthday Cake.
On bank holiday Monday, August 25, Hot Chocolate is on the Menu for Dungannon’s Picnic in the Park, at 2pm. The 70’s Superstars are headlining and entry is free.
Support acts include John Francis Trio, Daybreak, Whistling Donkeys and Justin McGurk and the Boogeymen.
Local Good Food Circle members are planning a Flavour of Tyrone Food Hall extravaganza that will offer festival goers the complete food experience.
Food on offer will range from great BBQ food, pulled pork, pizza, salads and wraps, for those with a sweet tooth the options include ice creams, American waffles, knickerbocker glory, cupcakes and of course an amazing chocolate fountain to round off the meal.
Beverages and drinks both hot and cold will also be available to quench that festival thirst.
