A GROUP of Queen’s University phyiscs PhD students, including Clare Scullion from Killeeshil, is organsiing a fundraising musical extravanganza featuring local musical stars.
The concert will be held in Killeeshil Community Centre on Saturday October 12 at 8pm, and will showcase local musical talent such Gene Stuart and Plunkett McGartland (who toured with Phil Coulter), singers, ballad groups, school choirs and lots of musicians including members of the South Ulster Youth Orchestra and Band.
The students are raising funds for TanzaniAID - a project which will involve them going to Tanzania in December to install solar panels in a school, promote and teach science, and bring scientific apparatus to the school
Clare Scullion, who is the event organiser, said: “It will be a wonderful night of live music. We aim to raise £10,000 to take out to a school in Tanzania. Tickets are £10 and can be paid at the door.
“We really hope you will all come along and show your support for all our performers in what promises to be a great night out.”
