A GALBALLY man who was found by police ‘slumped over the wheel’ of his car has been disqualified from driving and fined by East Tyrone Magistrates Court.
Ceslovas Zagorskas, 41, of Camaghy Road, Galbally was charged with being in charge of a vehicle with excess alcohol in breath.
A court was told how police were called to Ivybank, Donaghmore, following reports of an intoxicated driver.
When police arrived they found the defendant slumped over the wheel.
There was a strong smell of intoxicating liquor and the defendants eyes were glazed and red. Police also noted the keys were still in the ignition.
Zagorskas was arrested and taken to Dungannon custody suite where the lower reading of a breath test read 129mg per 100ml of breath.
A defence solicitor for Mr Zagorskas told the court he offers no excuse for the incident and instructs he was waiting for a friend to come a pick him up to take him home.
District Judge John Meehan fined Mr Zagorskas £200 and disqualified him from driving for nine months to run pro-laterally with another ban currently enforced.
He was also ordered to pay a further £15 offender levy.
