AN EXHIBITION immortalising some of Dungannon’s most popular local characters in woodcuts including cycle repair man Vinnie Doran will be on display in Dungannon’s Ranfurly House during the month of November.
It includes watercolours, drawings, photographs and woodcuts.
Larry specialised in printmaking in his Art College days and has gone on to immortalise some local people in his stunning woodcuts.
Men at Work’ is the theme for the series of woodcuts, two of which feature the late Vinnie Doran, ‘The Cycle Repair Man’ and ‘Testing for a Puncture.’ Vinnie with his brother Frankie ran a bicycle repair shop on Irish Street, first opened by their father ‘wee’ Paddy.
An avid photographer also, Larry’s eye for detail is also evident in the unique images he captures with his camera.
The exhibition is expected to appeal to art lovers as well as those interested in the town’s colourful history and personalities.
Along with Marty and Tony McLarnon, Larry is one of a talented trio of artist brothers, who have exhibited their work together.
Opening night is Friday 1st November at 19.30. Everyone welcome.
