The Alliance Party has selected Hannah Su to contest the forthcoming local government election in Mid Ulster on May 22.
Hannah will compete for the second time running for one of the hotly contested seats on the new enlarged Mid-Ulster District Council.
This is the first time the Alliance Party in Dungannon has nominated the same person in two back to back elections.
Hannah is looking forward to the campaign and hopes that the people of Dungannon will turn their back on the tribal politics of the past and join her as she steps forward – part of a new generation, a new voice and a new hope for the future.
Commenting on her selection Hannah remarked, ”I run for Sperrin Harriers where the slogan is so appropriate ‘Running across Mid-Ulster’. That is what I intend to do now with my campaign”.
She works as a Community Worker for the REACH project across the Southern Trust area (helping disadvantaged groups) and teaches English for Foreign Nationals at the local college. She is also a member of the Policing and Community Safety Partnership for Dungannon. Furthermore, this year she will be embarking on a trip with Drumglass Parish as part of the ‘Habitat for Humanity’ project to Romania to build homes for those most in need. She was also nominated to sit on the Food Safety Board for the North/South Ministerial Council and has been on it for 3 years.
