Killyman drink driver told police ‘I’m drunk and there is no point in lying’

A Killyman man who admitted to driving “after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your breath exceeded the prescribed limit” has been disqualified from the road for two years and three months.

Jonathan Gary McGahan, 22, from Drumaspil Road, was stopped by police, when they found him driving on the wrong side of Platers Hill, Coalisland on July 28.

It was reported at Dungannon Magistrates Court, that when stopped McGahan said: “I’m drunk and there’s no point in lying to you.”

Judge Copeland also ordered him to attend a drink-drive course and pay a fine.
