A MOTHER and daughter have pleaded guilty at East Tyrone Magistrates Court to no insurance charges.
Emma Conlon, 23, of Avonmore, Blackwatertown was charged with driving without insurance and Leona Conlon, 42, of Avonmore Blackwatertown was charged with permitting driving without insurance.
A court was told how police observed a Ford fiesta and checks revealed it had no valid insurance policy. The driver at the time, Emma Conlon produced an insurance document but checks found the insurance payments had not been paid.
Emma Conlon told officers she thought she was insured and it was her mother who had arranged the insurance.
A defence solicitor told the court it was a ‘simple oversight’ and Leona Conlon did not realise the payments had stopped. Both were fined £250 each and had six points endorsed on their licences each.
