A new series of flood maps for businesses and homeowners in Mid-Ulster was launched this week by Rivers Minister, Michelle O’Neill.

The maps now include detailed flood hazard and flood risk information for areas around Cookstown.

They show the depth and speed of flow of flood water which may occur during regular weather events, or alternatively, rarely and in extreme weather situations.

Minister O’Neill said the new flood maps, developed by Rivers Agency, ensure that residents and businesses have access to the most up to date information on locations likely to flood and the possible impact.
