AGENCIES involved in work to improve the look of Dungannon town centre, must get together and look at ways of making practical changes to a new traffic system which is causing headaches for shoppers and traders alike, one local councillor has told the TIMES.
In a video interview, Sinn Fein representative, Cllr Deirdre Varsani said she understands the work is vital to creating a “vibrant” town centre, but asked for the views of businesspeople and visitors to Dungannon to be taken into consideration.
Complaints have been raised in recent months about the new traffic system, as well as disruption caused by ongoing construction work.
The town’s Traders’ Association, meanwhile, says their patience and goodwill has “run its course” with the Public Realm Scheme.
