Three PSNI officers, two of which were stationed at Dungannon and Cookstown will find out next month if they are to stand trial charged with perverting the course of justice.

Thomas Geoffrey Ellis, (49), faces two charges while Harry McMahon, (45), and David Power, (45), face one charge each.

Mr Ellis’ address was listed as PSNI Cookstown, while Mr McMahon’s was listed as PSNI Dungannon, and Mr Power’s as PSNI Sprucefield.

The charges involve Mr McMahon allegedly removing contents from a locker belonging to Mr Ellis from Cookstown PSNI station in July 2012.

No other details were provided about the contents of the locker.

During the review hearing at Dungannon Magistrates Court, lawyers for the three officers told the court they intended to apply for anonymity orders for the officers on the grounds of security reasons and in the interest of a fair trial.

The legal representatives will make their case for that order to be imposed later this month.

A preliminary enquiry in the case was fixed for April 29th.
