A St Patrick’s Academy pupil was taken to hospital by paramedics after falling as he descended tiers set up for the annual school photograph in the sports courts.
The third year pupil is understood to have been knocked out after stumbling from half way up the tiered benches, hitting his head and damaging the lower platform on impact.
A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “We received that call about 10 o’clock yesterday morning [Wednesday, Sept 30] and took the child straight to Craigavon Area Hospital.”
The boy, who was admitted to the Emergency Department just after 12noon on Wednesday, has since been discharged according to the Southern Trust.
However they could not say whether he was admitted to hospital over night.
The school have been asked for a comment, but have not responded.
