History was made at St. Ciaran’s College Ballygawley as it welcomed its first set of quintuplets into the new Year 8 intake- Aaron, Alanna, Aine, Caitlin and Conan Loughran!
Whilst September 1st is undoubtedly a busy morning in many households; it was even more so for their parents as the five new St. Ciaran’s blazers and ties were put on for the first time!
Mum Rhonda Loughran said ‘I am so proud of all of them at this new chapter of their lives. This is a new beginning for them after seven years at primary school and I am delighted to see them continue to develop as individuals. The fact that they are in different bands at St. Ciaran’s means that this will be the first time that they will be separated in the classroom which will also have its advantages and I have no doubt that they will always be there to support one another as they continue throughout St. Ciaran’s College.’
Head teacher Mr Aidan Taggart welcomed the famous five on their first morning at the school, stating ‘It is always a special moment to welcome all our new Year 8 students as they walk through the front doors for the first time, ready to begin their journey in the St. Ciaran’s community; but today was an extra special for myself and my colleagues as we greeted five siblings entering the year group together. We look forward to continuing the great progress already made at our feeder primary school St. Mary’s Cabragh and helping Aaron, Alanna, Aine, Caitlin and Conan settle into life at St. Ciaran’s and continuing to develop academically, socially and spiritually. We celebrate an all-inclusive and nurturing learning environment and although their big brother Niall will already be looking out for them; they will also be supported by their Learning Tutors; Year Head, Head of Key Stage 3, Class Buddies and the wider school community. We all wish them all the best and look forward to celebrating even more milestones with them!’
