Ardboe star heading to Oz

Tyrone minor star Kyle Coney is set to become the latest young player to be signed up by an Aussie Rules club.

It is believed that the Ardboe clubman signed a two year contract recently with Sydney Swans, the club of Kerry star Tagh Kennelly.

Only last weekend Coney produced a superb performance hitting three points as he picked up his second Ulster championship medal as Tyrone retained their title at the expense of Monaghan.

The Red Hands now face Roscommon in the All Ireland quarter finals.

Coney will travel to Australia in October and no doubt he will be keen to make a similar impact to that of Down star Martin Clarke and former Armagh minor Kevin Dyas.
