Scoring was pretty good in the Charles McKenna Cup and the best of all the 40-plus achievers was Brian Corey, who won with a fine 45 points.
He got home in the Molloy Fuels-sponsored event two clear of James Philip O’Neill, with third-placed Wayne Reid who carded a fine 42 points total and edged out several other players on the same score.

There were 23 twos registered over the course of the day.
It was great to see a bit of sunshine during the past week and it showed that there is significant benefit to one and all, not least because the number of participants in the competitions doubled.
Let’s hope they get a lot more of this weather, 67 members having taken part in the Wednesday medal.

Meantime, in glorious sunshine the Ladies of Dungannon Golf Club competed for the April Medal and McQueen Cup Qualifier.
Twenty six Ladies played and as always, competition was keen.
The silver medal was won by Karen Hetherington (Lady Captain) with a splendid score of 73 nett, while the bronze medal went to Alison Chestnutt, who was just a single shot behind.
