The Tigers took on their Wilson cup final opponents of last season , Portadown side Seagoe and came away with the same result , a fine 4-1 win .

In truth it was a much changed Seagoe team but the home side weren’t in charitable mood as they had the visitors on the back foot from the start .

Niall Kelly back from a long term hamstring injury was tormenting Seagoe’s full back from his right wing position and it was his trickery that set up Shea Tennyson to fire home with a left foot shot on 15 minutes .

Soon after the Tigers doubled their lead with Conor mc Bride scoring his fourth of the season when he rose majestically to power home a bullet header from a pin point Caio Lobo cross .

The Dungannon men were dominant but were perhaps very fortunate not to concede a penalty when the Seagoe forward went down in the Tigers’ 18-yard box .

The game as a contest was finished on 30 minutes when a cross from the right was met with a brilliant diving header from Jason Toner .

The unlucky Graham Jarvis, who was playing his first game from early December, was replaced by Bruno Machado after an ankle injury .

Machado was to trouble the Seagoe rearguard for the remainder of the contest with his pace and direct runs at the heart of the visitors’ defence .

The second half was only two minutes old when Niall Kelly made it four .

The goal was just reward for Kelly’s excellent display .

However a minute later , Seagoe scored from a corner which was completely avoidable but which was too little too late for a comeback .

Under 21 starlet , Conor Mullen was then introduced to the first team and he gave an excellent account of himself for the reminder of the 90 minutes .

The Tigers also had the luxury of giving some minutes to veteran player and joint manager Eamon Robinson who replaced the injured Caio Lobo.

And Robinson was unlucky not to add his name to the score sheet when his free kick cannoned back of the upright .

The game finished 4 - 0 with Niall Kelly been awarded man of the Match .

Next up is a home game against promotion rivals Moneyslane , the game will be played at the Joe Stadium - 2.15 pm kick off .
